The United States plans to issue a limited-edition commemorative passport featuring President Donald Trump as part of activities marking the country’s 250th independence anniversary.
The United States Department of State has announced plans to introduce a limited-edition passport featuring the image of President Donald Trump as part of celebrations marking the country’s 250th independence anniversary. According to reports, the commemorative passport will be issued this summer under the administration’s America250 programme and will include Trump’s portrait on the inside cover alongside excerpts from the Declaration of Independence, the American flag and his signature in gold.
Mock-ups shared on the White House’s official X handle also show another page carrying a well-known painting of the founding fathers at the signing of the Declaration of Independence. State Department spokesperson Tommy Pigott said the passport booklets would feature customised artwork and enhanced imagery while retaining the security features of standard US passports. The commemorative rollout is part of broader anniversary events planned by the administration.
Activities lined up for the America250 celebrations reportedly include a Grand Prix race at the National Mall in August and a UFC event on the White House South Lawn in June. Officials said the special passport is intended as a symbolic tribute to the nation’s founding as the United States prepares to mark a major historical milestone.
