EASTER: Terrorists attack Kaduna churches, kill seven, abduct others

Terrorists attacked churches in Kaduna State during Easter, killing at least seven people and abducting several others amid ongoing security concerns.

At least seven persons have been killed and several others abducted after terrorists attacked churches in Kaduna State during Easter celebrations, sparking panic in affected communities.

The early morning assault occurred in Ariko, Kachia LGA, where gunmen targeted First ECWA Church and St. Augustine Catholic Church, opening fire on worshippers. Local officials said the attackers operated for an extended period without resistance, worsening fears over insecurity in rural areas.

Councillor Mark Bawa confirmed the incident, saying, “I am currently on my way to the community to ascertain the exact number of casualties. Some sources said seven persons were killed, while others claimed eight.” He added, “The attackers came in large numbers… Several people were killed, and many others were taken away into the bush,” citing poor telecom coverage as a challenge.
