‘I only shared God’s prophecy, I did not defamed you’ — Primate Ayodele replies Kwankwaso

Primate Elijah Ayodele has rejected Rabiu Kwankwaso’s N10 billion defamation threat, insisting his controversial sermon was a divine message, not a personal attack.

Primate Elijah Ayodele isn’t backing down from a N10 billion legal threat — and he’s blaming God, not malice, for his words.

Former Kano governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, now Peter Obi’s running mate on the NDC ticket, accused the cleric of damaging claims during a sermon, including suggesting Kwankwaso could ditch the opposition ticket after being financially induced to join it, Leadership reports.

Ayodele, responding through his media aide, insisted he never meant to tarnish Kwankwaso’s image, calling it simply a message from God. He said he’s never even met Kwankwaso personally.

The cleric claims his prophecy was twisted by people chasing political agendas, urging public figures to seek clarity before threatening lawsuits.

Leadership reports the dispute could now head to court.
