The Edo State Police Command has commenced an investigation and ordered the arrest of students expelled from Igbinedion Education Centre for a violent bullying incident captured in a viral video.
The Edo State Police Command has launched a comprehensive investigation into a viral video showing the bullying and assault of a student at Igbinedion Education Centre in Benin City, confirming that the perpetrators will face arrest despite their recent expulsion from the school. Command spokesperson Eno Ikoedem announced on Saturday, March 14, 2026, that Commissioner of Police CP Monday Agbonika has directed a divisional inquiry into the incident, which occurred at the elite private secondary school.
While the school management confirmed they have already dismissed the students involved as a disciplinary measure, the police emphasized that administrative action does not preclude legal consequences. Ikoedem stated, “The command wishes to assure the general public that the perpetrators involved in the bullying incident will be arrested and made to face the law accordingly, in line with their respective ages and in accordance with the provisions of the law.” The command has further appealed to the public for credible information to assist in the ongoing case to ensure the suspects are held accountable.
