A 16-year-old Nigerian, Osasere Okundaye, has become the country’s youngest chartered accountant after starting her ICAN journey at just 13.

Sixteen-year-old Osasere Okundaye has revealed that her path to making history began three years ago, when she enrolled for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) programme at just 13. She said determination and an early drive to achieve her dream pushed her onto that path.

Okundaye said the journey was demanding, requiring long hours of study, consistency and discipline alongside her regular academic work. She credited her parents, teachers and mentors for their support throughout the process, helping her stay focused despite the challenges.

The teenager recently made history as Nigeria’s youngest chartered accountant. According to The Cable, she hopes her achievement will inspire other young Nigerians to pursue ambitious goals with dedication and confidence.
