Singida Black Stars have suspended Super Eagles goalkeeper Amas Obasogie for three months pending investigation into alleged match-fixing, while Khalid Aucho was also sanctioned for indiscipline.
Amas Obasogie has been suspended for three months by Tanzanian side Singida Black Stars SC pending investigation into alleged match-fixing, the club announced on Friday. In a statement from its Disciplinary Committee, the club said the suspension is precautionary to allow a full probe into the allegations against the Super Eagles goalkeeper.
The club also suspended midfielder Khalid Aucho for three months over indiscipline and absenteeism. While Obasogie has been a regular starter in the Tanzanian Premier League, the club noted that no specific matches or evidence linked to the alleged match-fixing have been publicly disclosed as investigations continue.
