FCT judge steps down from El-Rufai’s case

Justice Hussaini Belgore has recused himself from hearing Nasir El-Rufai’s rights enforcement suit, with the case now set for reassignment.

Justice Hussaini Belgore of the Federal Capital Territory High Court has withdrawn from the fundamental human rights enforcement suit filed by former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, citing plans to proceed on leave. The suit concerns alleged violations of El-Rufai’s rights, including actions by the ICPC, EFCC and DSS, as well as the reported invasion of his Abuja residence. El-Rufai had also approached a Federal High Court to quash DSS charges, describing them as incompetent and an abuse of court process.
