Sheik Ahmad Gumi says both Christians and Muslims suffer from insecurity in Nigeria and called on the US to respect the country’s sovereignty.
Ahmad Gumi has said Christians and Muslims are both victims of insecurity in Nigeria. Speaking on Trust TV, he stated, “No doubt Christians are victims of insecurity, so are Muslims too,” stressing that the crisis affects all communities across the country.
Gumi also urged the United States to respect Nigeria’s sovereignty while offering assistance. “US have to respect Nigeria’s sovereignty. Nigeria requires foreign assistance while maintaining its sovereignty,” he said, adding, “We should also look at our own national interest.”
