Police in Lagos have arrested a suspect accused of importing and distributing adulterated engine oil, with 280 gallons seized across multiple states.
The Zone 2 Police Command has arrested a 26-year-old suspect for allegedly producing and distributing adulterated engine oil nationwide. Spokesperson DSP Gbenga Afolayan said the suspect confessed to importing fake products from China and distributing them across several states following a petition to AIG Adegoke Fayoade.
“During intelligence-led raids, officers recovered 280 gallons of adulterated engine oils from locations in Imo, Enugu, Kano, Lagos, and Ogun,” Afolayan said. The Standard Organisation of Nigeria confirmed the products failed Nigerian Industrial Standards, while police urged the public to report related complaints.
