DR Congo has partnered with US firm Atlas Park to use AI for advanced geological mapping to strengthen mineral exploration and attract investment.
The Democratic Republic of the Congo has signed a five-year agreement with US investment firm Atlas Park to deploy AI-driven geological mapping across its mining sector. Announced at the Mining Indaba, the project will analyse historic records and conduct new surveys to strengthen exploration strategy.
Atlas Park CEO Kai Han said, “Nowhere in the world has more potential for exploration than the DRC. We want to make money by investing in exploration and to do that effectively we need to create a better data environment.” The initiative aims to modernise mineral data as global demand for copper and cobalt rises.
