IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu has ordered the permanent end of the Monday sit-at-home in the South-East, directing citizens to resume normal activities immediately.
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has announced the total cancellation of the Monday sit-at-home across the South-East, effective February 9, 2026. Spokesperson Emma Powerful stated, “Monday sit-at-home is over. That era is gone! All markets, schools, offices, transport services and economic activities must resume fully and normally from tomorrow.”
Powerful added that any individual enforcing sit-at-home now acts against IPOB’s direct command and will be confronted. He stressed, “Our people must remain vigilant, calm and law-abiding… The era of Monday sit-at-home is over,” urging residents to return to work and send children to school without fear.
