The Nigerian government has spent N569 million on additional renovations for the Vice President’s official residence, adding to billions already allocated for Presidential Villa upgrades amid national economic concerns.
The Tinubu administration, via the Office of the Chief of Staff, disbursed N569 million to Dederi Investment Limited for renovating the Vice President’s Quarters. Records from September 15, 2025, describe the transaction as “additional payment for phase ii renovation of Vice President Quarters,” following a pattern of high-scale expenditure within the Presidential Villa.
This spending coincides with a N5.4 billion budget allocation for Villa renovations in 2025. Critics highlight these costs amid Nigeria’s fiscal pressures and rising debt. Previous data reveals even larger outlays, including N12.1 billion spent in May 2024 alone for residential and office construction projects within the State House.
