A Lagos father is seeking justice as police investigate the controversial death of his son found in a hotel swimming pool, with the family disputing claims of accidental drowning.
A grieving father, Henry Airenekhuemen, has demanded justice over the death of his son, Mattias, who reportedly drowned in a swimming pool at Signatious Hotel in Ajao Estate, Lagos. He told PUNCH Metro that Mattias attended a pool party on Saturday to sell tickets, but was later rushed to Isolo General Hospital, where he was found dead.
Raising doubts about the drowning claim, Airenekhuemen said, “If he truly drowned, why was his stomach flat instead of being swollen? And why was there foam coming out of his mouth and nose?” He added that police have detained three persons, including the hotel manager, while investigations continue amid unanswered questions over safety and CCTV footage.
