Soldiers evacuated a suspected explosive from a church in Aba, Abia State, preventing a potential tragedy that could have claimed over 100 lives.
Over 100 lives were reportedly saved after soldiers evacuated an object suspected to be a bomb from the United Evangelical Church, Ehere/Umuola, Ogbor Hill, Aba, Abia State. The object was discovered while church members were digging around the parsonage fence during preparations for road expansion work.
An eyewitness said, “It was while the church members were digging the ground for the new fence that they dug out the metal object which nobody knew was a bomb. The pastor later invited soldiers who evacuated the object.” Military authorities have taken over investigations into the incident.
