The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) shared N1.969 trillion for December 2025 among the federal, state, and local governments, with notable increases in VAT revenue compared to November.
The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) announced that a total of N1.969 trillion was distributed as December 2025 Federation Account Revenue to the Federal Government, states, and local government councils in Nigeria. The announcement was made in a statement by Bawa Mokwa, Director of Press at the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, following the January 2026 FAAC meeting in Abuja. The total distributable revenue comprised N1.084 trillion in statutory revenue, N846.507 billion from Value Added Tax (VAT), and N38.110 billion from the Electronic Money Transfer Levy (EMTL).
The FAAC communiqué showed that total gross revenue of N2.585 trillion was available in December 2025, with N104.697 billion deducted for cost of collection and N511.585 billion for transfers, refunds, and savings. Gross statutory revenue of N1.631 trillion for the month was N105.202 billion lower than November 2025, while VAT revenue rose sharply to N913.957 billion from N563.042 billion in November, an increase of N350.915 billion.
According to the communiqué, the Federal Government received N653.500 billion, state governments got N706.469 billion, and local government councils received N513.272 billion. In addition, N96.083 billion, representing 13 percent of mineral revenue, was shared with the benefiting states as derivation revenue.
