Meta is launching new paid subscription tiers to integrate advanced autonomous AI agents and creative video tools across its social media ecosystem.
Meta is set to trial premium subscriptions for Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp, offering expanded AI tools while keeping core services free. The rollout includes paid access to the Vibes video generation app, designed to “bring your ideas to life with new AI visual creation tools,” marking a significant shift toward monetizing high-end generative features.
The subscriptions will integrate technology from Manus, a recently acquired AI firm specializing in autonomous “agents.” Despite a Chinese regulatory probe into the deal, Meta aims to deliver agents that “plan, execute and complete tasks independently.” These tools will handle complex workflows like trip planning, building on Meta’s existing paid verification and ad-free tiers.
