Ebonyi governor sacks commissioner, traditional rulers over killings

Governor Francis Nwifuru has dissolved leadership structures and sacked officials from Amasiri after a deadly attack in Ebonyi State, vowing decisive action against perpetrators.

Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru has sacked the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Prof. Amari Omaka, removed traditional rulers, and dissolved political and community leadership in Amasiri, Afikpo LGA, following a violent attack in Okporojo, Edda LGA, where four persons were allegedly beheaded.

During an on-the-spot visit, Nwifuru described the attack as “most unfortunate” and warned against retaliation. He said, “the government of Ebonyi State will definitely show the perpetrators what it means to challenge government authority,” adding that the state would no longer tolerate lawlessness.
