Kano records five fire incidents within 24 hours

The Kano State Fire Service successfully contained five distinct fire incidents involving commercial and residential properties within a 24-hour period, reporting zero fatalities.

The Kano State Fire Service confirmed five separate fire outbreaks across the metropolis between January 27 and 28, 2026. Incidents spanned various locations, including a pharmacy in Badawa, communication antennas at Danladi Nasidi Estate, and a noodle-laden truck at Singa Market. Public Relations Officer Saminu Yusif Abdullahi noted that swift intervention prevented major losses across the affected local government areas.

Despite the frequency of the outbreaks, officials confirmed that no casualties were recorded. Reflecting on the successful operations, the service stated, “By the grace of Allah and the prompt response of our men, the fire was successfully extinguished, and further damage was averted.” Residents are now urged to switch off electrical appliances and store flammable materials safely to prevent future emergencies.
