Why I accompanied Tinubu to Türkiye — Air Chief

Nigeria and Türkiye have strengthened bilateral ties through nine MoUs aimed at modernizing the Nigerian Armed Forces and enhancing national security through advanced technology and trade.

President Tinubu and Air Marshal Aneke have concluded a high-level strategic visit to Türkiye, resulting in nine signed Memoranda of Understanding. The agreements span defense, technology, and trade, aiming to modernize Nigeria’s military and bolster the economy. Aneke visited top defense firms like ASELSAN and TAI to drive “smarter air power” and optimize existing procurement programs.

The Minister of Defence, Gen. Christopher Musa, emphasized that the mission reflects a directive to decisively confront national security threats. Musa stated, “This administration is committed to equipping the Armed Forces with the right capabilities, partnerships, and technologies required to defeat terrorism, banditry, and other threats to our national stability.” These partnerships are expected to enhance precision engagement and intelligence capabilities.
