Pray for Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo as he battles relapse of liver disease – journalist appeals

A prominent Plateau State journalist, Masara Kim Usman, has called on Christians in Plateau State and across Nigeria to pray for Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, the Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in charge of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, who he said is battling a relapse of liver disease and now requires an urgent medical trip abroad, recalling that Rev. Dachomo had earlier in 2025 travelled to India where he underwent a successful liver transplant donated by his wife, after which he returned to Nigeria and intensified advocacy against what he described as the genocide of Christians in the state, emerging as one of the few vocal clerics to bring alleged systematic killings to public attention despite official denials, with Usman noting that the respected cleric, who was later diagnosed with liver cancer necessitating the surgery, had after his recovery released a soul-inspiring video giving glory to God and appreciating those who prayed for him, but added that the pressures of sustained advocacy, alleged intimidation and public backlash may have taken a toll on his health, as in recent weeks the disease has reportedly relapsed, making him less vociferous towards the end of 2025, while in a brief Facebook post on Wednesday Usman wrote, “The famous Nigerian anti-genocide preacher is secretly battling escalating liver disease requiring urgent medical trip overseas. Please let’s all pray for him.”
