95 princes, princesses declare interest in Awujale of Ijebuland stool

No fewer than 95 princes and princesses of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House have declared interest in the vacant stool of the Awujale of Ijebuland.

The development was disclosed by the Olori Ebi of the ruling house, Lateef Owoyemi, at the start of a nomination meeting held at the Bisi Rodipe Hall, GRA, Ijebu Ode.

The meeting was attended by key leaders of the Fusengbuwa Ruling House, including the Deputy Olori Ebi, Otunba Ajidagba, and the chairman, Chief Fassy Yusuf.

Owoyemi, also known as Otunba Jadiara, said the names of aspirants who successfully scale the first screening stage would be forwarded to the Afobajes, who are responsible for selecting a candidate to emerge as the next Awujale.

He explained that the chosen name would thereafter be submitted to the Ogun State Government for approval, adding that any individual dissatisfied with the process is free to channel grievances to the government for redress.
