The agency said coastal areas would see sunny skies with patches of clouds, alongside the possibility of isolated thunderstorms and light rain over parts of Lagos, Bayelsa and Rivers later in the day.
NiMet further stated that similar conditions would persist on Tuesday, with moderate dust haze expected across the northern and central regions, as well as inland cities in the south, while coastal states may experience isolated thunderstorms with light rainfall in areas including Lagos, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Delta, Bayelsa and Rivers. By Wednesday, thick dust haze is forecast over the northern region and moderate dust haze over the central region, with dusty conditions inland in the south and partly cloudy skies along the coast.
Warning the public, the agency said, “Dust particles are in suspension; the public should take necessary precautions,” adding that, “People with asthmatic health conditions and other respiratory issues should be cautious of the present weather conditions.”
