The embattled founder of Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, Pastor Chris Okafor, on Tuesday reported at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, for questioning after initially failing to honour a police invitation. Sources said Okafor presented himself following warnings from highly placed individuals over the consequences of disregarding a lawful summons, after he reportedly ignored an earlier invitation issued on Monday.
It was gathered that his initial refusal was linked to an ongoing investigation involving his estranged lover, actress Doris Ogalla, at the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Zone 2 Command in Onikan. Police sources said Okafor, who has been accused by multiple women of sexual impropriety, abuse of authority and alleged murder, was questioned but not detained due to the absence of formal complainants. Efforts to reach alleged victims, including offers of protection and transport, were unsuccessful, prompting the Lagos State Police Command to step aside and allow the Zone 2 Command to conclude its investigation.
