Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has officially resigned from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). In a letter dated December 29, 2025, addressed to his ward chairman, the Governor announced his exit with immediate effect. “I write to formally notify you of my resignation from the PDP with immediate effect,” he stated, ending his tenure with the party.

Mutfwang expressed gratitude for the platform that facilitated his election. “I sincerely appreciate the PDP for providing me the political platform to participate in the democratic process,” he noted. He acknowledged the support of party leadership and members throughout his political journey, while confirming that his resignation was received and finalized by ward officials on December 30.

The Governor cited the need for a new direction to ensure effective governance. “Given the realities of the moment and guided by my commitment to purposeful leadership, clarity of direction, and service delivery, I am compelled to seek an alternative political platform,” he explained.
