Members of the Super Eagles were in high spirits on Monday as the Federal Government fulfilled its pledge of housing and land to the team for finishing runners-up at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.
The Nigeria Football Federation confirmed that the players received certificates for the promised land and housing documents.
The certificates were presented to the players at the team’s camp in Fez, Morocco.
The Super Eagles finished second at the tournament, which was held in 2024, after losing 2-1 to hosts Côte d’Ivoire in the final of the competition.
President Bola Tinubu had earlier honoured the players at the Presidential Villa, where he conferred the Member of the Order of Niger (MON) on each squad member and approved the allocation of plots of land in the Federal Capital Territory and a flat for every player.
