The Action Alliance (AA) in Osun State has selected Prince Olaniyi Fadahunsi as its governorship candidate for the upcoming August 8, 2026 election. Fadahunsi secured the nomination on Monday, December 15, after polling 74 votes at the party’s primary, which was held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) press centre in Osogbo. Delegates from the state’s 30 local government areas participated in the election.
The delegates unanimously voted for Fadahunsi, whose victory was overseen by the National Executive Committee (NEC) members, including National Secretary Hon Miller Ogwu. In his acceptance speech, the governorship candidate, who hails from Ota-Aiyegbaju, expressed confidence in his chances of winning. He stated that the party “is prepared to right all the wrongs of the current administration in the state.”
Fadahunsi assured his supporters that he is prepared to implement all the cardinal programmes of the Action Alliance if elected. He also promised his “teeming supporters of an all-inclusive government” and expressed profound gratitude for the confidence reposed in him by the party leadership and members, vowing not to “undermine that confidence.”
