Apostle Johnson Suleman has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to SaharaReporters demanding a retraction and national newspaper apologies over an April 2025 report linking him to a staged resurrection miracle. The cleric is seeking ₦1 billion in damages, describing the allegations made by self-styled ex-associate Apostle Wisdom as “malicious” and “defamatory.” Wisdom had claimed in a viral interview that an “injection” allegedly obtained from Suleman was meant to make someone appear dead for a fake miracle.
Suleman’s lawyers, in an April 8 letter to publisher Omoyele Sowore, accused SaharaReporters of publishing “outright falsehoods” without verification, insisting their client “has never met any Apostle O.C. Benjamin.” They cited a new video in which Benjamin reportedly denies ever meeting Suleman. The letter demanded retractions, full-page apologies in major newspapers and ₦1 billion in damages, warning that failure to comply would trigger litigation.
