I don’t know which country Tinubu plans to post me – Fani-Kayode

The Senate on Thursday continued screening President Bola Tinubu’s 65 ambassadorial nominees, including former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode, who appeared before the Committee on Foreign Affairs. Fani-Kayode, a key figure in the Tinubu-Shettima campaign, told The PUNCH he has no idea which country he may be posted to but is ready for any assignment. Emerging from the session, he described the process as transparent and conducted “in a relaxed atmosphere.”

Fani-Kayode, one of Tinubu’s non-career envoy nominees, said the President will determine his posting, adding, “I really don’t know. It is up to Mr President to decide that.” Other high-profile nominees awaiting confirmation include former presidential aide Ita Enang, ex–Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd.), and former Army Chief Lt. Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazzau (rtd.), with all postings to be announced after presidential approval.
