Traffic on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway was brought to a halt on Wednesday after a truck driver blocked both lanes at the Ogere axis, alleging extortion by Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officials. Stranded motorists said the driver claimed FRSC officers seized his truck battery, prompting him to obstruct the Ibadan-bound lane.
Other truck drivers reportedly joined the protest, extending the blockade to the Lagos-bound section and causing a total standstill. Police and Nigerian Army personnel attempted to intervene, but the crowd prevented an immediate resolution as the gridlock persisted.
