India’s Sarwagya Singh Kushwaha, aged 3, became the youngest player to receive an official rating from the International Chess Federation (FIDE). He achieved a rapid rating of 1572 on the December 2025 FIDE rating list, a historic first for his age.
The young prodigy, from Madhya Pradesh, practices chess four to five hours daily and has beaten multiple adult opponents. His accomplishment breaks the previous record held by Anish Sarkar, also from India.
