The Nigeria Customs Service, Katsina Command, says it intercepted 174 wraps of cannabis sativa and 698,600 tramadol tablets valued at N720 million from July 2024 to December 2025. The command’s spokesperson, Bello Isah, disclosed this at a briefing during the send-off ceremony for outgoing controller Idris Abba-Aji, noting the seizures resulted from routine operations across border routes in the state.
Isah said tramadol was seized over a 17-month period, while cannabis was intercepted in separate operations. He added that the command undertook a seven-day border tour to assess security and enhance cooperation with agencies and communities. Abba-Aji thanked officers and stakeholders for their support and expressed confidence that new controller Tanko Dogara would sustain existing initiatives.
