Former President Olusegun Obasanjo says he is uncertain of his actual age despite officially turning 88 in March. Speaking during the Toyin Falola Interviews series on Sunday, he explained that he estimates his age using the ages of his surviving schoolmates. “I don’t know my exact age but I could judge from those who were in school with me… So I leave it to you to guess what my age could be,” he said.
Obasanjo also highlighted the purpose of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, describing it as a national archive of historical documents. He said over three million materials have been digitised, with another three million awaiting processing. The library holds personal and public records, including school documents, prison letters—among them messages to his wife and a condolence letter to the late General Sani Abacha—as well as manuscripts of his books and farming records.
