Family accuses Activist Harrison Gwamnishu of diverting abducted couple’s ransom

Activist and self-styled security mediator Harrison Gwamnishu has been accused by the family of a kidnapped couple in Edo State of diverting funds raised to secure their release.

Abdulganiyu Oseni, elder brother of the abducted wife, claimed Gwamnishu received N20 million ransom plus N50,000 from the family but allegedly misappropriated the money. “This is the face of a thief. Harrison stole from the ransom my family laboured for over 10 days to raise,” he said.

Gwamnishu denied the allegations, insisting his role was to track the kidnappers using technology and assist authorities, not to handle or take money.

He explained that only the wife was released because the kidnappers claimed the ransom was incomplete. He invited the police, DSS, and military to investigate while emphasizing the safety of the husband still in captivity.
