Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has reacted to Senate President Godswill Akpabio’s ₦200billion defamation lawsuit filed against her following her public allegation of sexual harassment. The suit, dated December 5, 2025 and marked FCT/HC/CV/3356/2025, was filed before the FCT High Court and has been adjourned to January 21, 2026. In a Friday statement, Akpoti-Uduaghan said the case finally allows her to speak on allegations the Senate Committee on Ethics and Privileges reportedly refused to hear.
Akpoti-Uduaghan maintained she is prepared to prove her claims in court, insisting Senate rules previously stopped her from filing legal action until the matter passed through the Ethics Committee. Court documents show Akpabio sought and received leave for substituted service through the Clerk of the National Assembly. The suit alleges her claims damaged his reputation, while she declared, “I now have a chance to prove how I was sexually harassed… See you in court Godswill Akpabio.”
