Rivers State House of Assembly Speaker Martin Amaewhule has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party. He and 15 other lawmakers announced their move to the All Progressives Congress during a plenary session.
Amaewhule cited divisions within the PDP as the main reason for his departure. He also expressed a desire to support President Bola Tinubu’s administration from within the APC.
