The Nigeria Customs Service seized N181.6 million worth of petroleum products in Adamawa under ‘Operation Whirlwind’. The confiscations occurred over eight weeks in 55 operations near the Cameroon border, aiming to curb smuggling.
Officials said the operation supports national energy security in line with government mandates. The seized products will be publicly auctioned, while authorities warned that smugglers face penalties as severe as life imprisonment for their illegal activities.
