Aliko Dangote announced the Dangote Group’s goal to become the world’s largest fertilizer producer by 2028, planning to increase urea production from 3 million to 12 million tons. Speaking at the Imo Economic Summit, he urged African investors to prioritize domestic investment, emphasizing its role in attracting foreign capital.
Dangote thanked President Bola Tinubu’s government for its policies and called for more investment in electric power. Former Mauritius President Ameenah Gurib-Fakim supported calls for Africa to leverage its youth and mineral resources. President Tinubu, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, opened the summit, attended by Ban Ki-moon.
