Aliko Dangote, Chairman of Dangote Group, announced plans to make the company the world’s largest fertiliser producer by 2028. Speaking at the Imo Economic Summit, he detailed an increase in urea production capacity from 3 million to 12 million tons within five years.
Dangote urged African investors to prioritize domestic investment, asserting, “only a local investor can convince a foreign investor to invest in his home.” The summit, opened by Vice President Kashim Shettima on behalf of President Bola Tinubu, also featured former Mauritian President Ameenah Gurib-Fakim.
