Youth and socio-political organizations from Nigeria’s North East and North West have appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to keep Vice President Kashim Shettima in office. They cautioned that elevating former Speaker Yakubu Dogara could unsettle party loyalists ahead of the 2027 elections. The appeal was made during separate media briefings in Gombe and Kaduna, led by Honourable Umar Waziri Kumo and Comrade Haruna Mai Kano, respectively.
The groups stressed Shettima’s strong support in the North East and urged careful consideration of Dogara’s political influence. They encouraged leaders to avoid divisive statements, uphold unity, and preserve the legacy of the late President Muhammadu Buhari. Despite their warnings, they reaffirmed support for President Tinubu, highlighting that stability within the administration would strengthen national development efforts.
