The Mangu Community Muslim Clerics Forum (MCMCF) has described Reverend Ezekiel Dachomo’s claim that one of his churches was converted into a mosque as baseless and inflammatory. The allegation, reported on December 1, 2025, prompted the Forum’s chairman and secretary, Sheik Suleiman Haruna and MA Lawal, to demand evidence, saying the claim “was deliberately crafted to portray Muslims as aggressors and usurpers of Christian property, incite hatred, and undermine ongoing peace efforts in the area.”
The Forum emphasized that Muslims protected Christian properties during unrest, citing intact churches in Muslim neighbourhoods. It also noted that destroyed mosques were neglected and misused. The statement called on Reverend Dachomo to provide specific details of the alleged conversion or publicly retract his claim and apologise. “Facts must precede fear. Peace must prevail over provocation,” the Forum stressed, warning that failure to present proof would confirm the allegation as “malicious disinformation.”
