Ogun State’s NMDPRA Coordinator, Atilola Akinyemi, urged oil and gas operators to prioritize safety and follow international best practices, especially during the Yuletide season. He highlighted that increased demand and operational pressures during this period often lead to unsafe practices, accidents, and fatalities.
Akinyemi made the call at a stakeholder engagement in Abeokuta, themed “Impatience in Petroleum Supply and Distribution Operations.” Other speakers, including Adebambo Adesanya of the Ogun State Fire Service and Adebayo Badekale of IPMAN, reinforced the message, stressing vigilance and adherence to road safety to prevent incidents.
