FCID cops attempt journalist Fejiro Oliver abduction in Abuja

Four plainclothes officers from Nigeria’s Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) attempted to abduct journalist Fejiro Oliver from his Abuja office on Thursday. Claiming to have an arrest warrant, which they did not show, the officers left when they could not find Oliver’s vehicle, vowing to “keep trailing him.”

Oliver expressed fear, labeling the incident a “witch-hunt,” amidst ongoing defamation cases in Delta State involving Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Senator Ede Dafinone, and politician Stella Okotete. Oliver was previously abducted and detained in September on similar charges.
