The Delta State Police Command has implemented a comprehensive ban on fireworks and pyrotechnics for the upcoming Yuletide season and thereafter. This measure aims to bolster security and prevent crime, following recent seizures of illegal fireworks valued at millions of naira.
Police Commissioner Olufemi Abaniwonda stressed strict enforcement, warning retailers and the public of arrests and prosecution for non-compliance. Authorities, including SP Bright Edafe, have urged residents to report violations to ensure a peaceful festive period.
