The marketing firm handling the sale of Nigeria’s presidential Boeing 737-700 Business Jet has withdrawn the aircraft’s listing. In an email to The PUNCH, JetHQ’s Market Research Manager, Laurie Barringer, confirmed the delisting and directed inquiries to the government: “Thank you for your email. We no longer have the listing on the Boeing. You will need to reach out to the Nigerian Government for information as to what has become of the aircraft.” The National Security Adviser’s office has not yet provided a response.
The jet, purchased in 2005 for $43 million, was listed for sale in July 2025 as part of a cost-cutting initiative. Before its removal, the aircraft was advertised as available and had undergone refurbishment. It has an estimated current market value of about $56 million. The government’s rationale for halting the sale process remains unclear.
