Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has invited all senators to a dinner at Aso Rock on Friday, an announcement made by Senate President Godswill Akpabio who wished them a “sumptuous meal” and confirmed, “we will all meet there on Friday.”
The invitation comes at a time of intense national grief following a surge in kidnappings and killings across the country, including the abduction of 303 pupils in Niger State, the death of a parent from a heart attack, and continued captivity of over 250 children and teachers.
While 50 abducted pupils reportedly escaped and reunited with their families, widespread insecurity persists in states such as Kwara, Kebbi, and Borno, leaving Nigerians anxious and frustrated.
