Armed herdsmen attack church crusade in Nasarawa

A church crusade in Agboda, Nasarawa State, was abruptly halted after suspected armed herdsmen attacked the community and macheted a young man heading to the venue.

According to a report from VANGUARD, a church crusade in Agboda, Mararaba Udege, Nasarawa State, was thrown into chaos on Monday evening after suspected armed herdsmen attacked the community, leaving one youth macheted on his way to the gathering and his motorcycle seized.

According to the organiser, Dr. Daniel Ukpo, “the incident happened between 7p.m. and 8p.m.” and triggered panic as villagers fled for safety amid worsening attacks in the area. He lamented that “what escalated the confusion was the frequency at which herdsmen attack and kill the villagers,” adding that security presence is almost nonexistent and that “the sad thing is that nobody is here to challenge these armed herdsmen who are destroying farms and communities in this axis.”
