Following a directive from President Bola Tinubu, Nigeria’s Special Protection Unit has recalled all police officers attached to VIPs across the country.

The move is aimed at increasing police presence in communities and allowing officers to focus on their core law enforcement duties.
VIPs requiring protection will now be serviced by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), while the government also plans to recruit 30,000 new police officers.
