UK REJECTS NIGERIA’S REQUEST TO TRANSFER EKWEREMADU

The British Government has declined Nigeria’s request to allow former Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu, who is serving a prison term in the United Kingdom for organ trafficking, to complete his sentence in Nigeria. A UK Ministry of Justice source said the application was rejected over concerns that Nigeria could not guarantee he would continue serving the remainder of his sentence upon return.


NDLEA ARRESTS 19-YEAR-OLD INFLUENCER FOR SELLING CANNABIS-LACED COOKIES

The Edo State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency on Monday confirmed the arrest of a 19-year-old social media influencer, Praise Nwogu, popularly known as Candy, for promoting and selling cannabis-laced cookies online. The state commander, Mitchell Ofoyeju, said another suspect, 25-year-old Ebong Oghosa, was also arrested during the November 22 operation.
