The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has vehemently refuted former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s claims regarding the appointment of Xpress Payments in the Treasury Single Account (TSA) revenue collection system, labeling them as “incorrect” and “misleading.”
The FIRS clarified that it operates a transparent, multi-channel payment framework with several approved providers, emphasizing that these Payment Solution Service Providers (PSSPs) are not collection agents and do not have access to government funds. The agency urged political figures like Atiku Abubakar to avoid politicizing administrative processes, highlighting that the expanded TSA system aims for greater efficiency and accountability in revenue collection.
