NDDC, partners launch anti-drug rally in Edo state

The NDDC, in partnership with JOBELLE Crescent Global Services Ltd foundation, organised a sensitisation rally across Edo State to educate students and youths on the dangers of drug abuse.

In commemoration of the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the NDDC, alongside JOBELLE Crescent Global Services Ltd foundation, conducted a vibrant anti-drug awareness rally in Edo State.

The event, themed “The Evidence is Clear: Invest in Prevention, Break the Chain, Say No to Drug Abuse,” included marches through major routes, distribution of educational materials, T-shirts, and caps, as well as health talks and counselling sessions for students from schools such as Niger College, Oba Akenzua Secondary School, and Edokpolor Grammar School.

Speakers warned that “Youths are being lured into substance abuse, which severely affects their mental health and can lead to deteriorating physical health and, in some cases, loss of life,” urging young people to act as role models and reject peer pressure.

The campaign highlighted the societal consequences of drug abuse and emphasised the importance of collective action in fostering a healthier, informed, and drug-free youth community.
